A little bit to report!

Obviously, I am not very good at keeping this blog updated. To be honest, I don’t understand how all of this works, and there is so much I’d like to add to the sidebar, and redesign the pages. I admit my ignorance in blogging.

Our paperwork is now in the hands of USCIS. Our biometric fingerprinting appointment is first thing in the morning on Tuesday, the 27th. Two more days. Our timeline from that point should be: 3-4 days to process our fingerprints, two weeks for USCIS approval, dossier overnighted to Bulgaria and 30 days for the Bulgarian Government to translate our dossier to Bulgarian for review by the Ministry of Justice (MOJ). IF all this happens without a glitch, we should be traveling to meet our child(ren) by mid June. We are asking for prayers that this does happen without a glitch, so that we may bring our treasures home by the end of September!

We are now what I consider to be the 2nd trimester of our paper pregnancy! 🙂 We are basically in limbo, waiting for these next steps to complete, so that we can move into the last trimester. Travel to meet our children, come home, wait longer for the courts to approve the adoption, and then travel once again to being them home.

I will occupy some of my free(?) time trying to learn the ins and outs of this blog template and do a better job of updating.

Good news!

The wait is finally over! We found out we were approved to adopt a 5 year old little girl and she is being held for us as our paperwork makes it’s snail pace to eastern /Europe. She is of Roma descent and so adorable! She has some health issues, enteric Cystic Fibrosis, but her lungs are clear. This form affects the digestive tract. Her disease seems very mild, and is controlled with medication. We’ve seen video where she is singing and dancing. We can’t wait to meet her! We are still in the process of finding a sister or brother for her that we can bring home at the same time. If we don’t find our second child before we go, we have asked for a referral from the ministry. Keeping our fingers crossed that we find her a sibling.

The other good news is our dossier is in Missouri, and we’ve received our fingerprint appointment for the end of this month. Once we get those done, things should start moving at a brisk pace, at least that is what I am praying for! We hope to be overseas  in June to meet our little cherubs, and again in September to bring them home. We would appreciate any prayers you are willing to send up for us. The waiting is hard!
